Humility
“It was pride that change angels into devils, it is humility that change men as an Angels” St. Augustine
One of the best attribute intimate friend of God must possess is humility, my dear friend in Christ, have you ever asked yourself this question. Am I humble to my wife; husband; children; workers; co-workers; friends etc.? I believe you have the answer to the question within you. It seems that man has forgotten its origin, I will remind you if you have “God form man from the dust drawn from the ground” Gen 2:7. Some so called big men will say, do you know who I am? Some want to show their power over the other depriving them of their rights etc. In today’s reading we shall be examining how John The Baptist exercise his humility, though they pressed him to tell them who he was, but yet humble himself by saying “one who is coming after me whom sandal strap I am not worthy to untie” 1John 1:26 The proud are full of lies deceit are in there mouth, first reading explain more of it “liars are those who denies Jesus Christ “he pointed them out as an antichrist, anyone who is not humble is not of God, because “he humble himself by being obedient to death even death on the cross” Phil 2:10, as followers of Christ we must imitate him in his humility in all we do. Are you humble in all you do? “For those who exalt themselves shall be humble and those who humble themselves shall be exalted” Mathew 23:12 don’t show your power, don’t thing you are better off than your friends, co-workers, neighbors etc. all because you can do better what they can’t do “what do you have that was not given to you “1Corith 4:7 all you have are gift from the God. In this New Year, make a new resolution that I will be humble to all those that are around me Don’t think you are better than the others because “from dust you are and to dust you shall return” Gen 3:17
